Values

Heart Attitudes

There are seven core attitudes found in the New Testament of The Bible that guide what we do. We call these the “Heart Attitudes.” The first few, listed below, help us to successfully relate to others.

#1 Put the goals and interests of others above your own

Life is best lived for others.

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.
- Philippians 2:3-4

#2 Live an honest and open life before others

Share our lives with each other.

Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are all members of one body.
- Ephesians 4:25

#3 Clear up relationships

Relational rest comes with relational work.

Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift.
- Matthew 5:23-24
